The Three-Legged Calf

This calf was left injured and alone for days, and almost taken for slaughter.

This calf was found with a fractured foreleg, and her open wound was infested with maggots. She had been lying on the roadside for over three days—ignored by many, but not by all.

A concerned local stepped in just in time, stopping the attempt of some people who tried to take her to slaughter, and reached out to us for help. She’s now safe at the sanctuary. The maggots have been removed and her treatment is ongoing. She’s now learning to walk again—on three legs. ❤
