Meet Velu, he’s one of the dedicated caretakers at our sanctuary. He has been with us since its very inception. Initially, he first came to help with electrical work, and when Sai met him, he offered Velu an opportunity to join full-time, handling all kinds of responsibilities at the sanctuary.
Velu says that his love for the work has kept him here for so many years. He feels happy to contribute, as he deeply connects with the intention behind our founder’s initiative to rescue and save animals, as there are very few who step forward when a cow, a goat, or a dog is hurt to provide treatment and care. For these innocent souls, being rescued from misery and pain feels like divine intervention, says Velu – a chance to survive, heal, and live the life they deserve. 🙌🏼
He loves all the animals at the sanctuary, but two of his favourites are Hero and Priya, our beloved cows. 💗
A day for Velu begins with cleaning the ICU ward and arranging all the essentials needed for treatment. He then quickly prepared and feeds the cows with fodder and grass, while also cleaning their enclosures and removing dung and waste.
We are who we are because of our dedicated caretakers like Velu, who tirelessly support and care for every animal at the sanctuary. 💚
