A Second Chance at Life

Outside our sanctuary gate, we saw a truck—and inside was a helpless little soul, a male calf with a severely injured leg.

His wound, left untreated for days, had become home to hundreds of maggots.

This tiny boy had been run over by a vehicle, leaving him unable to walk. As with so many male calves, no one cared for him… until one kind soul decided he deserved a chance and sent him to us.

We immediately began treatment, cleaning his wound and giving him the care he so desperately needed. Slowly but surely, he’s starting to heal. His journey isn’t over yet, but he’s finally safe, loved, and on the road to recovery.
