8 Month Pregnant Cow with Uterine Prolapse

🌟 Rescue Story of the Week 🌟

Last week, a beautiful 8-month-pregnant cow came under our care after her previous owner was unable to manage her condition. She was suffering from a uterine prolapse—a serious medical issue that required urgent attention.

💔 Despite the challenging situation, we saw in her eyes the will to fight and protect the little life growing inside her. Our team quickly sprang into action to ensure she received the best care possible.

🐾 Treatment Details:

Our dedicated veterinarian carefully performed the following procedures:

🔹 Administered epidural anesthesia to reduce pain.

🔹 Cleaned the prolapsed mass with potassium permanganate (KMnO4).

🔹 Relieved the urinary obstruction caused by the prolapse.

🔹 Repositioned the prolapsed mass back to its original position.

🔹 Applied a vulval tape retention suture to prevent recurrence.

🔹 Supported her recovery with antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medications, B-complex supplements, and antihistamines.

💪 Her recovery journey is ongoing, but she’s already showing signs of improvement. This courageous mom-to-be is proof of how resilient animals are when given the love and care they deserve.

✨ Every life is precious, and at our sanctuary, we’re committed to giving animals like her a second chance at a happy, healthy life.
