A pregnant cow was in severe labour pain for nearly 8 hours, unable to deliver her calf. The cow was immediately brought to our sanctuary and attended to by our veterinary surgeon, Dr Ajith Kumar. Upon diagnosis, he mentioned that the obstructed labour was due to a congenitally narrow pelvis and a pelvic fracture.
This deemed natural birth impossible, and hence an emergency surgery was performed to save the mother and the calf.
The surgery was a success, and the calf was alive and healthy 💕
Today, both the mother and her calf are safe and cared for at our sanctuary. Success stories like these remind us of the importance of a timely rescue, skilled veterinary care, and compassion, which can truly help save lives.👏
