A young calf was found abandoned in a garbage dump in the Pallikaranai area, alone and struggling to survive.
Like many other calves born into the dairy industry, he was separated from the care and protection he deserved because of the dairy industry’s greed. Male calves, in particular, are often abandoned as they are seen as having little financial value. Many are killed or sent to slaughter, never given the chance to experience safety, comfort, or love.
When we rescued him, he was pale, thin, and malnourished. Without his mother’s care, he had been left to fend for himself.
He is now safe here at the sanctuary, where we hope to give him all the love, security, and family he deserves.
